In my many 25 years as a Diagnostic Physician in Functional Medicine and teaching holistic lifestyle options, it is a rare pleasure to come across a friend and professional colleague
like Rex. We have known each other for about three decades – first as in a professional capacity and then as friends.
I also have firsthand experience of his skillful Shiatsu therapy and life guidance during highly demanding times. We met during my time as Medical adviser to TV-am, a morning breakfast TV station in London, in 1988. Rex had been treating the Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Bruce Gyngell, for a couple of years from 1986 at the East West Macrobiotic Centre. It was later in June 1988, during an intense 100 day staff strike, that Bruce had a severe Heart Attack. Rex played a
pivotal role in Bruce’s survival and rapid recuperation, using his many skills, both physical, nutritional and philosophical. He remained an ongoing key resource to not only Bruce but also
the key staff.
